Water plays a very important role in maintaining the functioning of the body, but have you ever thought about how to drink water properly to make the most of its benefits?
Dr. Bhakti Arora Kapoor, India’s famous nutrition consultant, shared in her recent Instagram post some ways to drink water , according to Hindustan Times.
She says that staying hydrated is important for maintaining good health and spirits. Water plays an important role in regulating body temperature, lubricating joints, transporting nutrients and removing waste from the body.
Here, expert Kapoor shares 4 ways to drink water as follows:
1. Should drink water in a sitting position
Drinking water while standing or walking can upset the fluid balance in the body. Drinking water while standing can cause unwanted excess fluid accumulation in the body, leading to arthritis. It can also affect the digestion and absorption of minerals in the body, which in turn leads to many other problems as well.
2. Drink water slowly, small sips
Drink water in small sips as this allows the body to process nutrients and minerals well. And it also helps the kidneys process all the fluids properly, according to the Hindustan Times.
3. Start your day with a glass of warm water
Drinking warm water in the morning helps to flush out the toxins that accumulate overnight in the body and also cleanses the digestive tract getting you ready for the day. It also promotes weight loss by boosting metabolism.
4. Avoid drinking water during meals
Most people drink water with meals, but that’s a mistake. Drinking water with meals can dilute digestive acids and disrupt the digestion of food. Try to limit water intake 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after meals. If it is necessary to drink water during a meal, it should be taken in small sips, this will not do much harm, according to the Hindustan Times.
